Rabbi Avram Rothman

Rabbi Avram Rothman, originally from Syracuse, New York, is the Senior Rabbi of the Aish Thornhill Community Shul. He holds a MS in Guidance & Counselling from Johns Hopkins University, a PhD in Comparative Literature and was ordained at Baltimore’s Ner Israel Rabbinical College. 
He has been a practicing Marriage counsellor and community Rabbi for over 35 years having held positions in Boulder & Denver, Colorado; Worcester, Massachusetts and Thornhill, Ontario, He originally came to Toronto to open and operate Ohr Somayach Toronto and ten years ago was installed as the Rabbi of the newly constituted Aish Thornhill Community Shul.  
He partners with his wife, Ruth, a practicing Psychiatric Nurse and a Senior Nurse Navigator. They are the parents of four children and eight grandchildren. 
Rabbi Rothman is a regular contributor to the Canadian Jewish News, is the author of “The Gripes of Rothman” a weekly column and is published on aish.com
